STC informs UN envoy’s office of its rejection to mark Unity Day in Aden

ADEN, May 19 (YPA) – The UAE-funded Southern Transitional Council (STC) informed on Thursday the UN envoy for Yemen, Hans Grundberg, its rejection of efforts to hold events marking Unity Day, May 22, in Aden city,south of Yemen.

The STC, through the head of its foreign department, Mohammed al-Ghaithi, submitted a complaint to the envoy’s office in Aden during a meeting with Peter Rice, director of the envoy’s office, accusing the Riyadh-formed Presidential Council of conflicting powers and responsibility, apparently in reference to the raging differences.

Al-Ghaithi pointed out that the partnership in the current stage did not cancel the entitlements of each party, including the southerners, to achieve their future and ambition.
