President Al-Mashat stresses importance of doubling efforts to provide services to citizens

SANAA, May 17 (YPA) – President of the Supreme Political Council, Mahdi Al-Mashat, stressed the importance of doubling efforts to provide water services to citizens.

This came during his meeting on Tuesday with the Minister of Water and Environment, Abdul-Raqib Al-Shurmani, and the Secretary-General of the Prime Ministry, Mohammed Qasim Al-Kibsi, to discuss the progress of work in the ministry and its affiliated institutions, as well as its plans and programs for the current year.

In the meeting, Al-Mashat stressed the need to repair the drinking water and sanitation network damaged by the Saudi-led coalition airstrikes, in a way that alleviates the suffering of citizens.

Mr. President urged the repair of crippled water wells, and paying attention to construct water barriers by taking advantage of the rainy seasons to irrigate lands and agricultural crops.

The meeting reviewed the situation of the Ministry of Water in light of the coalition and blockade, and the difficulties it faces in continuing to provide water and sanitation services and environmental sanitation activities.
