Shura Council stresses importance of moving to achieve food security

SANAA, May 15 (YPA) – Speaker of the Shura Council, Mohammed Hussein Al-Aidarous, stressed the importance of moving to find alternatives for achieving food security.

The council affirmed, during its meeting on Sunday in the Agriculture and Fisheries Committee, the significance of studying plans and visions to develop the agricultural sector and increase production in line with the requirements of the phase that Yemen is going through under the aggression and siege.

The meeting explained that the current stage would require the concerted efforts to ensure the development and revitalization of the agricultural sector by taking advantage of global developments with regard to economic transformations, to overcome threats in the field of food security.
