Hundreds of soldiers rally to protest in Aden

ADEN, May 09 (YPA) – Hundreds of soldiers staged on Monday a protest rally in front of Al-Ma’asheq Palace in Aden city, south of Yemen.

In the rally, the protesters denounced the continued government loyal to the Saudi-led coalition to ignore their demands and to cut off salaries.

These protests coincide with a state of widespread tension in all the institutions of the government loyal to the coalition, which has been suffering from a major financial collapse, recently, in light of the spread of corruption and the absence of any role for oversight institutions.

The protests were the first of their kind since the return of the Riyadh-formed Presidential Council weeks ago and the announcement of the UAE-backed Security Belt Forces, which handles the protection file and a ban all protests in the city.
