Casualties reported as clashes break out between coalition’s factions in Lahj

LAHJ, April 17 (YPA) – Clashes broke out again on Saturday between Saudi-led coalition factions in Lahj province, southern Yemen.

This was reported by Yemen News Portal, based on the testimonies of well-informed  sources.

According to the sources, the clashes broke out for the second day in a row between elements of the security belt of forces loyal to the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC)’s militia, and others belonging to the Al-Amaliqa 2nd infantry Brigade in the Al-Musaymir District.

The sources explained that the clashes broke out after disagreements between the gunmen of the two sides on collecting the royalties of shops in the directorate.

Moreover, the same sources noted that the clashes resulted in the death of one of the 2nd infantry Brigade’s  gunmen and the injury of two others belonging to  security belt forces.

The clashes come just days after similar clashes broke out between coalition factions in the same province, amid conflicts over the levies they practice on shops and truck drivers.
