SANAA, April 16 (YPA) – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has announced that between 2,500 and 3,000 soldiers have been killed since the start of the Russian military operation on March 25.
“During the operation, the Ukrainian side lost about 3,000 troops while about 10,000 have been wounded,” Zelensky said in an interview with CNN.
He said it is difficult to determine the number of civilian casualties, noting the lack of information, especially in areas Kiev has lost and now they are under Moscow’s control, specifically the southern and eastern regions of the country.
Between 19,000 and 20,000 Russian soldiers were allegedly killed in the war, which is in its eighth week.
It is worth mentioning that the Ukrainian side last time declared its losses on March 12th, with some 1,300 Ukrainian army soldiers killed in that period, according to Kiev.
