Riyadh plans to put outgoing President Hadi in prison

SANAA, April 12 (YPA) – “The Saudi regime is currently arranging a file of corruption and money looting cases against ‘the outgoing President Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi,’ in an attempt to put him into prisons,” a Yemeni source in Riyadh familiar with the matter revealed.

The sources said that the Saudi royal palace directed the formation of a committee to account for Hadi and his children’s money in preparation for his trial and the confiscation of his wealth, which he acquired during his time in power in Yemen.

The sources indicated that “Saudi Arabia and the UAE are preparing to present documents to the pro-coalition factions in Yemen, accusing Hadi of looting Yemen’s wealth.

“Riyadh and Abu Dhabi are expressing fears that Hadi may leave Saudi lands and go to one of the Western countries, which will open the door to issues related to the Yemen war that Saudi Arabia and the UAE do not want to expose to the world.”

The sources indicated that the idea of detaining outgoing Hadi for a long period in Saudi Arabia, might put Riyadh in an embarrassing position in front of the international community, which requires accusing Hadi of looting funds from and holding him responsible for the war crimes committed by the coalition in Yemen for 7 years.

Last Sunday, the Saudi committee began to confine funds of Hadi and his sons in Saudi Arabia, in preparation for seizing them and transferring the case file to the authorities loyal to the coalition in Yemen.

The outgoing president, Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi, is subject to compulsory isolation with his family members in Riyadh, and no one knows his fate since he made a statement transferring his powers to the Riyadh Presidential Council on April,07, 2022.
