China calls on NATO to stop its provocative statements

SANAA, April 12 (YPA) – NATO should immediately stop spreading misinformation and provocative statements targeting China.

“For a long time and ignoring the facts, the NATO Secretary-General has been making false statements about China’s foreign policy, and has been vocalizing about the so-called China threat theory,” the Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson, Zhao Lijian said in a press conference.

He explained that “NATO, as the largest military alliance in the world and a product of the Cold War, has become a tool for certain countries seeking hegemony.”

“NATO always claims that it is a defensive organization, but in fact it creates confrontations and turmoil on a continuous basis,” he added. “It requires other countries to abide by the basic norms of international relations, yet it wages wars and indiscriminate bombing operations against sovereign countries, which results in about killing and displacing innocent civilians.”
