Coalition takes civilians as human shields in Marib city

MARIB, March 31 (YPA) – The Islah militants loyal to the Saudi-led coalition have continued to take the residents and neighborhoods of the city of Marib as human shields.

Local sources affirmed that the move by the Saudi-backed Islah came to protect their armored vehicles and military vehicles and foil the military advances by Sanaa forces from the southern and southwestern sides of the city.

The sources said that the coalition forces installed artillery in Al-Rawdha neighborhood, adding that the Islah militants fired artillery from inside the government compound at Sanaa forces in the southwest of the city.

Last year, the coalition forces and al-Qaeda militants used several camps for the displaced persons in the city as human shield.
