Moscow expels number of US diplomats

MOSCOW, March 24 (YPA) – Russia announced the expulsion of an unspecified number of American diplomats, The Russian Foreign Ministry said

In a statement, the foreign ministry said it has handed over to the US Embassy in Moscow a list of a number of US diplomats who will be expelled as “undesirable persons.”

The ministry explained that the expulsion of US  diplomats was a in response to a US government order to remove 12 staffers from Moscow’s mission to the United Nations,

It also stressed that “any hostilities by the United States against Russia will receive a decisive and appropriate response.”

Washington had earlier announced that it had expelled 12 Russian diplomats, members of Russia’s mission to the United Nations, claiming that they had engaged in “activities inconsistent with their qualities,” while Russia considered the decision a gross violation and a new hostile step against it.
