SANAA, Mar. 23 (YPA) – Former Yemeni ambassador and political analyst, Abdullah Salam Al-Hakimi, on Wednesday revealed the only condition for achieving peace in Yemen.
“Peace in Yemen can only be achieved by ending the Western-backed Saudi-Emirati aggression, lift the unjust siege, and the withdrawal of the occupying forces from the land of Yemen,” Al-Hakimi said in a tweet on Twitter, adding “Reasonably, the cart cannot be put before the horse.”
Al-Hakimi affirmed that there is no room for dialogue between the Yemeni parties except on the basis of national liberation, noting that “The first national priority is to resist the aggression, the siege, and the Saudi occupation of our lands.”
“The dialogue with parties that fight with the external alliance against parties that resist it is unreasonable, unless they declares their condemnation of the aggression and the fight against it, as they announced before that they fight under its command,” he said.
He explained that the military truce comes must includes ending the naval, air and land blockade, considering the blockade as a form of war, stressing the establishment of mechanisms to verify compliance with the provisions of the truce and monitor its violations.
