China: Washington should answer Russia’s questions about Biological Activities in Ukraine

SANAA, March 19 (YPA) – China’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Zhang Jun, asked relevant parties to the biological security issue in Ukraine to respond to newly discovered documents and offer clarifications to remove the doubts of the international community.

“China is strongly opposed the development, possession or use of biological or chemical weapons by any country,” John said at a UN Security Council meeting on Ukraine’s biological military program.

“Any information on military biological activity must cause concern and attract the attention of the international community so that irreparable damage can be avoided.”

He continued: “in this regard, relevant parties should take a responsible approach. Russia has further revealed newly discovered relevant documents. The party concerned should respond to questions, and offer timely and comprehensive clarifications to remove the doubts of the international community.

Earlier, Russia’s permanent ambassador to the United Nations, Vassily Nebenzia, said Ukraine and the United States were violating the Biological Weapons Convention, noting that all new evidence of dangerous activities existed in Ukraine.
