The UN Security Council last Thursday decided to send delegates to Sanaa to review the security situation in those areas.

The move came after Lise Grande provided misleading security information to the UN Security Council regarding the security situation of foreign missions in Sanaa, claiming that the foreign humanitarian missions in Sana’a being threatened.

She claimed that the situation is unstable for foreign movements and there are no guarantees for their safety.

In a meeting with officials of the Yemeni presidency, she demanded security guards for her be which surprised them.

In a response to the UN Lise Grande’s allegations, the official said that the real threats face the UN humanitarian work missions are in the coalition-backed militias-hold areas, adding that no foreign worker in Sanaa or the Northern provinces under the authority of Sanaa has been subjected to any attacks except by Saudi-led coalition aerial bombings.

The former UN humanitarian coordinator for Yemen Jamie McGoldrick objected to UN Lise Grande during the UN Security Council meeting and refuted what he considered to be lies and misinformation about the security situation in Sanaa.
