SANAA, March 08 (YPA) -“If diplomacy failed with Russia, USA would help Ukrainians defend themselves,” U.S. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said.
Blinken added, in a press conference with Prime Minister of Estonia, Kaja Kallas, that the sanctions imposed against Russia, against the background of the military operation in Ukraine, were aimed at inflicting losses on Russians.
He stressed that Estonia and America would continue to strengthen the defense of every inch of NATO countries.
The US Secretary also affirmed that many countries welcomed the proposed decision not to rely on Russian energy, pointing out that work getting underway to search for alternative sources.
The Russian Armed Forces have been continuing, since February 24, the special military operation, whose goal President Vladimir Putin set as “protecting people who, over the past 8 years, have been subjected to persecution and genocide by the Kyiv regime.”
