SANAA, March 02 (YPA) – President Joe Biden has confirmed that the US forces will not engage in any fighting with the Russian military in Ukraine.
“Our forces will not engage in any fight against Russian forces in Ukraine, and we will not send troops to Europe to fight alongside Ukraine,” Biden said in his first State of the Union address to Congress.
“But our forces are going there to protect our NATO allies in case Putin decides to continue moving west.”
Biden added, the United States will close its airspace to all Russian aircraft.
“Tonight I’m announcing that we will join our allies in closing off American airspace to all Russian flights,” he said.
Biden noted that the armed conflict in Ukraine “will make Russia weaker” and the rest of the world stronger, noting that Russian President Vladimir Putin is more isolated than ever before.”
