Tebboune accuses Morocco, Israeli occupation of sowing strife between Algerian presidency, army
ALGERIA, Feb. 16 (YPA) – Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune has accused Morocco and the Israeli occupation of being behind all attempts to drive a wedge and sowing discord between the presidency and the army.
“Morocco has harnessed the propaganda and false news apparatus to strike national unity and insult the Algerian army every day,” Tebboune said, in an interview with local media, broadcast on Tuesday evening.
The Algerian president considered that his country’s relationship with Morocco deteriorated further, accusing the occupation of supporting the Rabat regime.
Tensions have escalated between Morocco and Algeria in recent months. Algeria announced last August the severance of its relations with Morocco due to “hostile acts” against it by the latter, which was denied by Rabat.
