Shura Council condemns coalition’s targeting of TeleYemen company
SANAA, Feb. 15 (YPA) – The Shura Council condemned on Tuesday the US-backed Saudi-led coalition’s airstrikes on the building of the Yemeni International Telecommunication Company “TeleYemen”, which led to the interruption of international telecommunication services.
In a statement it issued today, the council considered that the systematic destruction of the telecommunications sector aims to cover up the coalition’s crimes against civilians, isolate the Yemeni people from the world and deprive them of telecommunications and Internet services guaranteed under international humanitarian law.
The statement held the coalition countries fully responsible for the repercussions of the interruption of TeleYemen services, calling on the United Nations and the UN Security Council to assume their legal responsibilities and stand firmly against all violations and crimes committed against the Yemeni people.
