America sends two warships to Jordan

WASHINGTON, Feb. 09 (YPA) – The United States of America has sent two naval units to the Jordanian port of Aqaba.

The US Fifth Fleet Command said, in a statement posted on Twitter, the two naval units are of “cutter” type and belong to the US Coast Guard, and they are scheduled to participate in training missions.

The marine units are rapid response vessels and larger than patrol boats and the US Coast Guard relies on them to operate in deep water, the statement added.

The two ships arrived as part of a scheduled visit to Jordan, according to the statement, which indicated that they are to participate in the International Maritime Exercise “IME”.
