SANAA, Feb. 06 (YPA) – Minister of Foreign Affairs in Sanaa, Hisham Sharaf, expressed on Sunday the condolences of the Sanaa government and the Yemeni people to the Moroccan people and the family of the five-day old child Rayan, who died on Saturday, after he fell into a well in Chefchaouen city.
Sharaf said in a news statement that the Yemeni people interacted with the incident of the child “Rayan”, and deeply regretted his death, which reminds the Arab peoples and the peoples of the world of the painful reality of the suffering of millions of Yemeni children who live and their families in a complete siege, and are exposed to A relentless war and deprivation of the most basic rights of child in the modern era, in which the interests and courtesies between states and their governments overshadowed humanitarian principles and values.
The minister stressed that the lives of Yemeni children have become meaningless to advocates of childhood rights and the international community as a whole, as they have been deprived of their most basic rights, adding that there are hundreds of thousands of Yemeni children suffering greatly as a result of the US-backed Saudi-Emirati aggression and the siege, and a large number of them need of treatment abroad, due to the deterioration of the capabilities of the national health system, and the continued closure of Sanaa airport.
He said: “The continuation of the aggression carried out by the governments of Saudi Arabia and the UAE against the Yemeni people is a dangerous transgression to be a black point in the history of relations between Yemen, Saudi Arabia and the UAE.”
The Minister reiterated the necessity of ending the aggression, stopping all military operations in the Yemeni territories, lifting the siege, and opening air, land and sea ports to civil and commercial flights.
Sharaf pointed out that this would have a positive impact in creating an atmosphere for negotiations and settlement, comprehensive politics, bringing peace to Yemen, and ensuring the security and stability of the region.
