SANAA, Feb. 01 (YPA) – Dozens of women staged on Tuesday a protest rally to condemn strict measures taken by the Islah Party in Taiz province.
In the rally, organized in front of the passport office of the Islah authorities in Taiz, they demanded the implementation of the law that stipulates the right of Yemeni women to obtain a travel document, away from the obstacles and requirements set by the authorities.
The participants considered these measures are a violation of the law, woman rights and its regulations, which equalize men and women in obtaining the document.
The rally pointed out that Islah’s Passports Department has established a law for itself to prevent women from obtaining travel documents, amid accusations of their morals and dignity.
