US police officers killed in 2021 is the highest in 20 years

SANAA, Jan. 30 (PA) – The number of officers killed in 2021 in the United States is the highest in the past 20 years, Fox News reported.

Fox News recently reported, citing data released by the FBI, that this figure includes unjustified confrontations and orchestrated ambushes.

The report confirmed that 346 police officers were shot in the past year (2021), 63 of whom were killed.

The number of officers shot in the line of duty is higher than in 2020.

The report noted that this trend shows no signs of declining this year, with six police officers victims of armed violence in the past two days alone.

Two police officers were shot Wednesday afternoon in St. Louis. A Milwaukee sheriff’s deputy was shot several times when he stopped at a traffic light Wednesday evening, and three other Houston police officers were shot Thursday, the report said.
