SANAA, Jan. 29 (YPA) – Yemen Petroleum Company (YPC) warned on Saturday of an imminent humanitarian disaster as a result of the shortage of oil derivatives stocks in all provinces during the next few days.
Director of the YPC, Ammar Al-Adrai, in a press statement that 85 percent of the vital sectors would face problems due to the depletion of their stocks of fuel.
“Over 25 million Yemeni citizens are suffering from a fuel crisis, whether in the liberated or occupied areas, stressing the company’s ability to secure the needs of all the Yemeni people, provided that the port of Hodeida is fully opened, “Al-Adrai explained.
He affirmed that the United Nations deliberately shirks its responsibilities towards the Yemeni people, pointing out that the YPC addressed the UN several times and did not receive an answer.
“There are no signs of releasing the UN-permitted detained ships,” Al-Adrai added.
