Marib witnesses clashes between pro-Hadi forces, UAE-backed brigades

MARIB, Jan. 25 (YPA) – Armed clashes erupted between “Hadi government” forces and elements of the UAE-backed “Al-Amaliqa Brigades” in Harib area of Marib province, informed sources said on Tuesday.

These clashes reflect Saudi-Emirati differences and the absence of coordination between their factions on the ground due to the different agendas of each.

Tribal sources reported that the clashes erupted between the Hadi government forces, affiliated with Islah Party, and the Al-Amaliqa brigades, the pro-UAE wing, against the backdrop of Islah’s efforts to control the sites of the Al-Amaliqa forces on the outskirts of Harib district, while the latter seek to tighten their grip on them within the framework of their plan to secure the districts of western Shabwa province.
