3 people arrested for human trafficking in Oman

MUSCAT, Jan. 20 (YPA) – The security authorities in the Sultanate of Oman on Thursday arrested three people of Arab nationality on charges of human trafficking.

The Omani police explained in a post on Twitter the arrested were deluding the women of the existence of job opportunities in the Sultanate of Oman, and upon arrival, they were forced to engage in acts contrary to morals and public morals. They then blackmail the women that they owed money to them after forcing them to sign checks.

The police added that legal measures were taken against the accused.
