ADDIS ABABA, Jan. 12 (YPA) – At least 17 civilians were killed as a result of an air strike by the Ethiopian government forces on the town of Mai Tsebri in the Tigray region in northern Ethiopia, humanitarian organizations announced Tuesday.
“The strike took place on Monday afternoon in Mai Tsebri and resulted in the death of 17 civilians working in a flour mill,” AFP said citing local authorities and eyewitnesses.
This comes after 56 people were killed and about 30 others injured as a result of an air strike that hit a camp for the displaced in the province, which has been ravaged by the 14-month-old war between federal forces and the rebel “Tigray People’s Liberation Front.”
