UN responds to Saudi-led coalition allegations about Hodeida ports

WASHINGTON, Jan. 11 (YPA) – The United Nations on Tuesday confirmed that it is ready to inspect the ports of Hodeida, western Yemen, against the background of the Saudi-led coalition’s accusations against Ansarullah of using the ports for military purposes.

The UN Mission to Support Hodeida Agreement (UNMHA) account on Twitter said: “The mission notes with great concern the allegations regarding the use of Hodeida ports for military purposes.”

“The mission has requested inspection procedures, which are part of its mandate, and stands ready to address the concerns of the militarization of the ports,” the account added.

The UN mission stressed that these ports are a lifeline for millions of Yemeni citizens, and called on the parties to resolve this issue while adhering to restraint.
