Dozens killed, wounded in catastrophic fire in New York

New YORK, Jan. 10 (YPA) – At least 19 people were  killed, including nine children, in a catastrophic fire that broke out at a high-rise apartment building in  New York,  officials said Sunday.

At least 19 people, including nine children, died in a fire Sunday at a Bronx apartment building, the Associated Press agency reported citing an official in the fire-fighting service.

The official said an investigation is underway to determine the cause of the fire.

Today’s fire came just days after a house fire in Philadelphia killed 12 people, including eight children.
