STC suffered heavy casualties in battle for Shabwah

SHABWAH, Jan. 09 (YPA) – The UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council has on Sunday admitted that it has paid a “heavy price” in the fighting in Shabwah, although the clashes did not exceed 100 kilometers.

This came in responses to reports on the deaths of first-grade commanders in the most important brigades of the STC.

Ahmed Omar Bin Fareed, Deputy Chairman of the STC Dialogue Committee, said that “the South had paid a bill for its progress in the battles of Bayhan,” accusing those he described as Muslim Brotherhood forces of “carrying out a despicable plot,” referring to their support for the liquidation of the leaders affiliated with the STC.

Several leaders of the Al-Amaliqa Third Brigade, who were recently summoned by the STC to confront the Muslim Brotherhood forces of the Islah Party in Shabwah, died recently in a rocket attack during a meeting chaired by General Magdi al-Radfani.

According to sources in the brigade, the brigade’s first-grade commanders were killed during the attack.
