IDLIB, Dec. 27 (YPA) – Activists close to armed groups in Syria reported that Turkish occupation forces are training hundreds of pro-Idlib militants to use Turkish-made combat equipment, including tanks.
The Syrian Observatory center said Sunday that 400 members of the so-called “National Army” factions backed by Ankara are undergoing a training patrol on the use of Turkish-made armored and military vehicles at the Al-Mustama camp in Idlib, including training tank crews, the first case of its kind.
According to the sources, Turkish forces are training cadres capable of using various types of weapons and tracked weapons, in preparation for their involvement in the fighting so that there is no need for the deployment of Turkish soldiers on the front lines.
The center said Turkey had trained 200 Syrian militants to use various parts of the anti-armor weapons.
