PTC condemns coalition’s bombing on its branch in Mahweet

SANAA, Dec. 25 (YPA) – The Public Telecommunications Corporation (PTC) on Saturday condemned the US-backed Saudi-led coalition’s targeting of the corporation branch building in Mahweet province.

A source in the Corporation confirmed that three of the coalition airstrikes hit the guard housing of the installations department, killing a child, his mother, and one of the workers, while seven others were seriously wounded, including children and women.

The source deplored the coalition’s continued targeting of populated areas, and service and civil institutions, in light of international suspicious silence and complicity.

It is noteworthy that the Telecommunications Corporation has been subjected to systematic bombing and destruction over the past six years, and the losses of the telecommunications and postal sectors amounted to more than $5,452,572,000 dollars.

According to statistics issued by the Ministry of Telecommunications, more than 55 of its employees, cadres and engineers have been killed as a result of the coalition’s bombing and raids, in addition to the destruction of 248 towers, 1,652 stations, 46 exchange facilities, 1,458 power and air-conditioning equipment, and 32 telecommunications booths.
