BENGHAZI, Dec. 25 (YPA) – After Libya’s presidential elections were postponed until January 24th instead of Friday’s scheduled date, the Libyan city of Benghazi witnessed demonstrations refusing postponement of the elections, demanding that elections be held on time.
A number of activists and some residents took part in demonstrations against the postponement of the elections, as they would represent their hope of ending the state of war and reaching a stable and elected government.
Libya’s National High Electoral Commission had earlier submitted a proposal to the House of Representatives to postpone the presidential elections until January 24th instead of Friday.
