ADEN, Dec. 23 (YPA) – The Minister of Finance in the “Hadi government” backed by Saudi-led coalition, Salem bin Burik, on Thursday confirmed that the government is unable to address the deterioration of the economy in Aden and other southern provinces.
Bin Burik explained that the local economy and the government finances are witnessing an unprecedented collapse, indicating that the deterioration in state institutions in Aden precedes the stage of comprehensive collapse. He called on the European Union to support the economy and the local currency.
The statements of Bin Burik are an explicit recognition of the Hadi government’s inability to provide any real solutions to address the deterioration of living conditions, in light of the instability of the local currency, Yemeni riyal, and the depletion of the country’s wealth by the so-called “legitimacy” government.
