SANAA, Dec. 21 (YPA) – Deputy Foreign Minister Hussein, Al-Ezzi, discussed on Tuesday with the United Nations Deputy Resident Coordinator for Humanitarian Affairs for Yemen, Diego Zorrilla, the latest developments related to Sanaa International Airport.

In the meeting, Al-Ezzi expressed Yemen’s condemnation of the Saudi-led coalition countries’ systematic targeting of Sanaa Airport, which represents a civilian service facility.

He considered that the bombing of the airport as a part of the ongoing hostile targeting of the country’s infrastructure by the US-backed Saudi-Emirati coalition.

Al-Ezzi indicated that the Civil Aviation Authority was forced to temporarily suspend international flights on Monday, as a result of a technical failure in the air navigation devices.

The Deputy Foreign Minister affirmed Sanaa’s keenness on continuing humanitarian flights and making efforts to provide the necessary technical needs and treatments.

In the meeting, Al-Ezzi expressed Yemen’s condemnation of systematic targeting by the Saudi-led coalition countries on the Sanaa Airport, which represents a civilian service facility.

In turn, the UN official affirmed the commitment of the humanitarian offices operating in Yemen to play their humanitarian role and work hard to provide the necessary technical requirements for the airport.

Zorrilla requested the national authorities to allow a UN specialized team to conduct an assessment of the extent of the damage and the destructive effects as a result of the coalition airstrikes on the airport.
