YPC: Saudi-led coalition seizes 2 new fuel ships

SANAA, Dec. 16 (YPA) – The Yemeni Petroleum Company (YPC) in Sanaa announced on Thursday that the US-backed Saudi-led coalition seized two oil ships carrying more than 51 tons of mazut and diesel.

The official spokesman for the company, Essam Al-Mutawakil, said on his Twitter account that the two detained ships belong to the private sector factories.

The first ship is “FOS POWER” carrying 30,056 tons of mazut and diesel, and the other is “CARPE DIEM II” carrying 21,282 tons of diesel, he added.

Al-Mutawakil indicated that the coalition prevented the two ships from reaching the port of Hodeida, despite they were inspected and given entry permits from the UN Verification and Inspection Mechanism.
