UAE-backed militia suppress celebrations of Yemen’s win in West Asian Junior Championship

ADEN, Dec. 14 (YPA) –   The UAE-backed Southern  Transitional Council (STC)’s militia on Monday night forcibly dispersed celebrations in the southern Yemeni city of Aden on the occasion of Yemen’s victory in the West Asian Junior Championship.

According to sources, security belt members opened fire in Mansoura directorate at fans who took to the street to celebrate the football achievement after chanting ‘with souls, with blood, we redeem you, Yemen,’.

The sources added that another force belonging to the STC dispersed young people with live bullets as they  were celebrating  in the streets of Crater, in conjunction with the shooting of revelers by security forces in al-Maala and Al-Tawahi districts amid an intense security deployment.

Observers attributed the STC’s reaction of the celebrations in Aden, which spread to Yemen, to the fact that it proved the interdependence of the fabric of the Yemeni people and the failure of division projects led by Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
