MARIB, Dec. 13 (YPA) – The Yemeni army forces took control over strategic areas separating Marib and Jawf provinces, local sources said.
The sources affirmed that the army made a new field advance by controlling strategic mountains in the desert areas separating the city of Marib and Khab Washaf district of Jawf, in fierce battles waged against the Saudi-led coalition forces.
After fierce battles that left dozens of dead and wounded on both sides, the army forces were able to advance towards the area of and the strategic mountain Habash and Qashaan ranges.
The army forces also managed to take the remaining strategic mountains in Al-Yatama desert in Jawf, hours after foiling an attack carried out by the “First Border Guard Brigade” of the coalition forces, towards the “Salba” area of Jawf.
The coalition’s infiltration attempts comes to relieve pressure on its recruits south of the city of Marib, who are under a massive military attack by the army forces.
