OREGON, Dec. 08 (YPA) – A second earthquake was recorded on Tuesday in less than 24 hours off the Oregon coast, the US Geological Survey said.
The second quake measured 5.8 degrees, and its epicenter occurred 434 kilometers west of Newport, Oregon, which has population estimated at 10.3,000 people, the authority said.
The epicenter of the quake was 10 kilometres (10 miles) depth.
For its part, the US National Tsunami Warning Center did not declare a tsunami risk as a result of the earthquake.
Earlier, the US Geological Survey announced a 5.5-magnitude earthquake in the same area.
