Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman: there is no military ties with Yemen

TEHRAN, Dec. 02 (YPA) – Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh on Wednesday denied any military ties with Yemen by the Islamic Republic of Iran, saying that reports on targeting a secret IRGC base in the Yemeni capital was unfounded,, Islamic Republic News Agency ( IRNA)   reported.

According to IRNA, Khatibzadeh’s remarks came in response to the Saudi-led coalition’s alleged targeting of an alleged secret base belonging to Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) experts in Sanaa as baseless.

He ruled out any military ties between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Yemen.

“Such baseless declarations are made to deflect the nations of the region and the world’s public notice from the crimes of the aggression states,” the Iranian spokesman noted.

He further pointed out that the Islamic Republic of Iran has never had a military presence in Yemen to be targeted by the aggressors.

Khatibzadeh confirmed that “such baseless declarations will not change the reality of Yemen and the wrongness of the military strategy of the aggressors.”
