Cold wave expected to go on within coming hours: NCM

SANAA, Nov. 30 (YPA) – The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) expected a cold wave targeting the mountainous heights and desert areas within the coming 24 hours.

In its weather bulletin, the center said that the weather would be cold to very cold during the night and early morning, in the provinces of Saada, Amran, Sanaa, Dhamar and Bayda Abyan, Lahj, Dhalea and Ibb.

In the coastal areas, the weather might be partly cloudy in general, and winds to be light to moderate and active on the southwestern coast and Bab al-Mandab, with a maximum speed of 20 knots.

“While the weather in Socotra archipelago will be partly cloudy, and the winds will be northeasterly light to moderate, with a maximum speed reaching 20 knots.”

The center warned the elderly, children, patients, workers and farmers during the night and early morning hours, and travelers to mountainous provinces, to taking the necessary precautions to prevent the cold weather.
