UN: We continue to deal with Hamas despite British decision

NEW YORK, Nov. 21 (YPA) – The United Nations announced on Saturday the continuation of its dealings with the Islamic Resistance Movement “Hamas” in the Gaza Strip, commenting on Britain’s attempt to pass a law classifying the movement as a “terrorist organization.”

Spokesman for the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Stephane Dujarric, said in a press conference: “We continue to deal with the existing authorities in Gaza (Hamas) whenever necessary, and we leave the member states to make their decisions in this regard.”

On Friday, British Home Secretary Priti Patel announced that she had initiated a law in Parliament classifying “Hamas” as a “terrorist” organization and prohibiting it in the United Kingdom.
