Zionist entity, US, UAE, Bahrain carry out joint exercise in Red Sea

RED SEA, Nov. 11 (YPA) – The Zionist entity, the United States of America (US), the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Bahrain began exercises on joint maritime security operations in the Red Sea on Wednesday, November 10, the US Naval Command announced Thursday.

“The exercise, which is supposed to last five days aboard the amphibious transport ship USS Portland (LPD 27), will focus on visiting other vessels, inspection and confiscation,” US Naval Command NAVCENT said in a statement.

The training would also enhance interoperability between the maritime interdiction teams of the participating forces, the US Naval Command added.

“It is exciting to see U.S. forces train with regional partners to enhance our collective maritime security capabilities,” said Admiral Brad Cooper, Commander of NAVCENT, and commander of the U.S. Fifth Fleet and Combined Maritime Forces.

He indicated that “maritime cooperation helps protect freedom of navigation and the free flow of commerce, which are essential to regional security and stability.”

It is the first publicly announced naval exercise between the United States and Israel and the two Gulf states, which normalized diplomatic relations with Israel last year under an agreement known as the “Abraham Accords”.
