Leading member in Islah Party survives assassination in Aden

ADEN, Nov. 04 (YPA) – Vice President of the University of Aden for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, Dr. Mohammed Aqlan, who is affiliated with the Islah Party, on Thursday survived an assassination attempt in Aden city, southern Yemen, local sources said.

The sources stated that unidentified gunmen opened fire at Dr. Aqlan while he was passing through Al-Taqniya City in Al-Mansoura district in Aden, and then fled.

Dr Aqlan was shot in the shoulder and was taken to the hospital and underwent surgery, the sources explained.

The city of Aden has been witnessing a state of insecurity and chaos, amid the escalation of conflict between the Saudi-led coalition’s tools, which caused the spread of fear and terror among the citizens.
