Update: 12 killed in Aden explosion

ADEN, Oct. 31 (YPA) – The death toll of the explosion that hit the vicinity of the entry gate to Aden Airport, located in the Khor Maksar area, has risen to 12.

The explosion, which occurred near Aden International Airport, killed and injured many civilians, including women and children.

Aden airport’s media official Adel Hamran said about 10 people were killed and about 20 injured, while the health office reported that five people were killed and more than 25 injured in the latest toll.

Aden police said in a statement that the incident was caused by a car bomb near the first checkpoint to enter the airport, killing and injuring more than 30 civilians, as well as burning and damaging a number of cars and homes of citizens.

Aden has been witnessing a state of repression imposed by the UAE-backed  Southern Transitional Council (STC)’s militias, amid ongoing raids and arrests of dissidents.
