Hadramout tribes threaten to stop export of crude oil

HADRAMOUT, Sept. 23 (YPA) – Hadramout tribes threatened on Thursday to stop the production and export of crude oil from Masila fields.

According to sources, Al Jaber tribes in the province said they would prevent trucks loaded with oil materials to pass to and from the Hadramout valley.

Armed tribal groups set up barriers and checkpoints near the Yemeni oil company, Petro Masila, and proceeded to stop the tankers loaded with oil derivatives belonging to the Saudi-exiled Hadi government.

The tribe demands Hadramout authorities to stop building a school on land devoid of residents and students in Wadi Sana of the province, near the oil fields in Ghail Bin Yamin district, accusing the governor, Faraj Al-Bahsani, of colluding with the influential and allowing the sabotage of community peace, as well as carrying out suspicious agendas.

The escalation among the tribes has resulted in the failure of diesel tankers to reach the stations operating the electricity, which doubled the suffering of the citizens by increasing the hours of power outage, in addition to making a crisis of oil derivatives.
