President al-Mashat affirms full readiness to engage in real negotiations

SANAA, Sept. 21 (YPA)- President of the Supreme Political Council, Mahdi al-Mashat, affirmed on Tuesday Sanaa’s keenness on lasting and comprehensive peace, and its full readiness to engage in serious and real negotiations.

In his speech, made to mark the seventh anniversary of the September 21 revolution, Al-Mashat held the coalition party full responsible for impeding and obstructing peace due to its adherence to the continuous siege and its use as a military and negotiating weapon.

Mr. President called on the United Nations and the international community to condemn and lift the siege to be a war crime against humanity and an arbitrary act contradicting the ethics of war and violates all international and humanitarian laws.

Al-Mashat called for the British people to pressure on the British government to put an end to the aggressive behavior towards the dear Yemeni people.

President condemned the American and international position in general and their misleading treatment of the world public opinion towards the issue of peace in Yemen, considering the international stance in general as one of the most important reasons for prolonging the war in Yemen as a method does not help achieve peace.

He also called on the leadership of the coalition to deal positively with the initiative of the Leader of the Revolution about Marib, and release fuel ships, and lifting the siege, as well as initiating the release of prisoners and other humanitarian and economic treatments, as practical measures for confidence-building towards negotiations ending the war.
