French national released after being detained in Shabwa

SHABWA, Sept. 14 (YPA) – A French national has been released after being detained in one of secret prisons in Shabwa province for nearly 8 months, east of Yemen.

Wedad Al-Doh, the human rights activist, said on Facebook that a French citizen, 32, was freed and his return to Brittany in France, after one year and a half of a secret detention in Ataq city.

The Saudi-backed Islah party militants has controlled Shabwa province since 2019 after a conflict with forces loyal to the UAE.
