Aden Airport represents network of crimes, violations of human rights

SANAA, Sept. 12 (YPA) – The crime of killing the Yemeni young man, “Abdul-Malik Al-Sanabani”, who holds the American nationality, has awakened the sons of Yemen at home and abroad to demand the opening of the files of kidnappings and murders affecting travelers by Saudi-UAE affiliated militias in Aden and the rest of the ports controlled by the Saudi-led coalition in Yemen.

In conjunction with the murder of “Al-Sanabani” in Tur Al-Baha in Lahj governorate, south of Yemen, the detention centers that run by the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) militia are still crowded with abductees traveling to and from Yemen, the last of whom was Yemeni students returning from Malaysia through Aden Airport.

Since September 4, 2021, four students returning from Malaysia have been kidnapped in the “Badr” camp after being arrested from Aden airport by the STC militants, as the case of “Al-Sanabani” and dozens of travelers who became valuable hunting grounds for the criminal gangs funded and sponsored by Saudi Arabia and the UAE.

According to SAM Organization for Rights, the four students “Ibrahim Al-Shahri, Yahya Al-Areqi, Hussein Al-Shaibani and Ahmed Al-Madani” who traveled from Colombo Airport at 11 pm on September 2, then stayed on September 3 at Khartoum Airport, and arrived at Aden Airport at quarter past four by Al-Saeeda flight, on September 4, 2021, they were received at the airport gate by a military vehicle of the STC and were taken to the prisons of Badr Camp after being arrested arbitrary in front of the eyes of passers-by.

Similar to the arrest of passengers at Aden Airport, Sheikh Abdul Qader Al Shaibani, 70, was arrested at the hands of the same militias late last year, which kidnapped him from the airport while he was on his way to treatment in the Republic of Egypt, and was taken to secret prisons for more than 10 months in Aden city, before he was released due to his deteriorating health condition.

On August 31, the STC militias at Aden Airport arrested “Fahd Mohammed Ali al-Riyashi,” 30 years old, immediately after his arrival at the airport coming Europe. He was released after mediation and large sums of money on August 28.

On the 25th of August, 2020, the activist “Firdous Hussein Al-Dulai”, head of the Women’s Development Organization “Wad” was kidnapped after she was inside a hotel in the city of Aden, after arrived at Aden airport from the Arab Republic of Egypt.

Crimes and violations encouraged by Washington

The aforementioned facts represent only the most prominent violations that Yemenis are subjected to, while arriving or traveling from Aden airport.

However, there are many victims whose rights have been violated and their money robbed by armed militias affiliated with Saudi Arabia and the UAE.

Many human rights activists in Yemen believe that there are fears that can no longer be tolerated, threatening the lives of Yemeni citizens arriving or traveling through Aden airport.

Also, a lot of Yemenis believe that the regional mobilization practiced by the “STC” sponsored by the coalition countries against the people of the northern governorates, in addition to the state of insecurity in the Yemeni areas occupied by the coalition, which has produced a terrifying mixture of dangers that target the lives of Yemenis.

Observers have seen that the United States, along with the United Nations, hold full responsibility for the murders and human rights violations that are exposed to travelers through Aden airport, because of the support provided by Washington to the coalition countries against the people of Yemen.

This political support by US to the Saudis, Emiratis, and their armed factions that have encouraged to persist in committing more crimes and violations against travelers through Aden Airport, and the rest of the coalition forces-run Yemeni ports.
