SANAA, Sept. 06 (YPA) – The US Department of State condemned the military coup in Guinea and said in a statement that violence and any extra-constitutional actions would only reduce Guinea’s chances of peace, stability and prosperity.
“The junta’s “actions could limit the ability of the United States and Guinea’s other international partners to support the country,” it added.
Soldiers seized power in Guinea on Sunday, arrested President Alpha Conde, suspended the constitution, imposed a curfew in the country and closed the border.
