Al-Mushki warns of using Mocha Port to undermine the security of maritime navigation

HODEIDAH, Sept. 02 (YPA) – The head of the National Redeployment Team in Hodeidah, Major General Ali Al-Mushki, on Thursday warned of the danger of the US-Saudi aggression bringing in Daesh members through the port of Mocha.

He added that the port is used as an access point for various types of weapons, explosives and mines, pointing to its role in destabilizing the security of maritime navigation in the Red Sea.

This came during his meeting with the head of the United Nations Mission to Support the Hodeidah Agreement, General Abhijit Guha.

Major General Al-Mushki called on the UN mission to compel the other party to implement its obligations, reactivate the control points, and work with the joint mechanisms of the Redeployment Coordination Committee, as previously agreed upon.

Al-Mushki reviewed the continued violations of the US-Saudi aggression and mercenaries of the agreement by bombing neighborhoods and residential areas and developing new military fortifications.

He called on the head of the UN mission to fulfill its obligations regarding the rehabilitation of the Salif and Ras Issa ports and the provision of electricity to the people of Hodeidah.

General Al-Mushki confirmed that the national side has implemented all its commitments and made many concessions in order to move forward with the implementation of the Stockholm Agreement, although the other party has not yet implemented any of its commitments.

He also called on it to play its humanitarian and moral role to take a firm decision to prevent maritime piracy and the detention of fuel and food ships, given that the Stockholm Agreement was a humanitarian agreement.

For his part, the Head of the United Nations Mission praised the cooperation of the national team and its commitment to the understandings reached.

He stressed the mission’s keenness during the current phase to meet with all parties to implement the redeployment plan, activate control points and complete the implementation of the terms of the Stockholm Agreement.
