Iran refuses raising issues outside nuclear agreement in Geneva talks

THERAN, Aug. 23 (YPA) – Iran has insisted that the nuclear talks in Geneva should be within a certain time frame, and it does not accept issues outside the nuclear agreement being raised in those discussions.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh said Monday “the nuclear talks should take place within a certain time frame, and we will not wait indefinitely.”

He stressed that “Tehran seeks to make the Vienna talks meaningful, and advises that all parties pay attention to the reality and developments on the ground.”

“If the United States returns to the agreement, we will discuss the parties’ commitment to the commitments in the agreement,” he added.

He pointed out that Iran’s nuclear activities come with compliance with the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty and are subject to the supervision of the International Atomic Energy Agency, and that “Iran’s nuclear program and all activities related to it are peaceful.”
